Eutopian Accident is the project of Dustin Ragland, a project built from several years of recording in bits and pieces, composing in little cracks of time between travel and work at home, in Oklahoma City, the unassuming urban spot on the line between plains and forest.

Growing up playing mathy punk music helps him to keep it jagged, if you will, but a healthy love for the radio hits of youth in the mid and late 1980s injects not a small amount of love for crappy drum machines, catchy synths, and chorus on the guitar. Add to that a guy who skips the graves of kings at Westminster Abbey and goes right to TS Eliot's epitaph, and you have some allusion covered, literary word-smithery happening. His degree is in 2000 year old languages, what did you expect?

Eutopian Accident purees these influences in a roomy blend of electronic and organic pieces, sewn up into songs both borne from pop music and from indie restlessness. Recorded in apartments around OKC, and in bits and pieces during travels, it is diverse in timbre and style, but each tune still feels fluent with the next.

Dustin has been fortunate to have worked, usually as a drummer, but also as a multi-instrumentalist or producer with many artists, including Emelo, Student Film, Charlie Hall, DM Stith, Dr. Pants, Mantra Mantra, Zach Payne, Jenna Davis, Ordinary Neighbors, Kinsey Charles, David Dani, and many other mega-awesome songwriters and composers.

Thanks for listening and participating in mine and others' music, everyone who listens and supports is a player in the band, another instrument tuning up and joining in.
